The BOD POD GS-X is an air displacement plethysmography system that uses the surface of the body to determine body density and, consequently, body composition. It can be used to assess different populations, including children. The BOD POD GS-X performs a fast, simple and accurate analysis. Each BOD POD has a dedicated computer system capable of measuring thoracic gas volume and managing assessment results.

The BOD POD GS-X uses plethysmography, a quick and easy-to-use method for determining body composition that uses the inverse relationship between pressure and volume.
Once body density has been determined, the BOD POD measures thoracic gas volume and using densitometric equations (or those customized by the user) calculates fat percentage and fat-free mass.
The BOD POD is extremely simple to use and is a very flexible tool that can be used to assess different population groups: the elderly, adults and children.
A complete test takes just 5 minutes:
” The patient’s basic information is entered into the specially configured computer
” The BOD POD self-calibrates
” The individual’s mass is measured using the digital scale
” The patient’s body volume is measured while sitting inside the BOD POD
” The volume of thoracic gas is measured
” The test results are displayed and printed out
The pediatric accessory (optional) allows the assessment of body composition in young children. It includes a customized seat to create a comfortable and safe testing environment for patients between 2 and 6 years of age and weighing at least 12 kg.
The chest volume measurement (optional) integrates the body volume values with the gas volume measurement, thus increasing the accuracy of the results.
