Operating Rooms | Champalimaud Foundation

The Champalimaud Foundation has joined the Botton Family in a project that aims to combat an extremely lethal cancer that has been increasing over the years.

As we walk hand in hand with technology and innovation, we had the privilege of being able to collaborate in the execution of this Project, namely in the design, development and installation of three operating rooms equipped with the most sophisticated medical technology and innovative materials, in addition to equipping 15 Intensive Care rooms together with world-renowned brands.

A project that combines hospital architecture and engineering, state-of-the-art systems and technology implemented in three operating rooms, one of which is a hybrid integrating diagnostic imaging systems. One of the Operating Rooms is also served by several Support Laboratories.
The most distinctive characteristics are related to the fact that they have a round configuration, including part of the walls built in glass that has the specificity of allowing a control of luminosity and transparency of the Operating Room.

With an integrated solution of Modular Construction System, Laminar Flow Ceiling, Centralized Control and Security System, it also allows the installation of images, sockets and panels integrated into the walls, thus ensuring the perfect and watertight implementation of all equipment. The rooms were equipped with a Surgical Lights System, Monitor Arms, Surgery and Anesthesia Pendants and a Karl Storz OR1 NEO video and documentation management system, in a resolution up to 4K, 3D and 4K/3D.
The control of medical equipment, the integration of streaming, videoconferencing and two-way telestration systems is done with simplicity and security in transmission. The operation of all functions is carried out via the surgical monitors with touch screen function directly from the surgical area or the nursing room.

Teprel welcomes with great satisfaction the outcome of what we consider to be our most significant project to date. This success not only strengthens our determination, but also increases our ability to face new challenges with renewed confidence.
This process was, without a doubt, a path of deep learning and consolidation of knowledge, resulting in a final product of excellence that fully achieves the established objectives.

This project was only possible due to the dedication of all Teprel employees, the Champalimaud Foundation and all the external teams who collaborated daily to achieve this goal.
